Zac Efron Gets Another Movie Role

TV

Zac Efron is a hot commodity in Hollywood. He is getting movies roles left and right. He has signed on to star in Me and Orson Welles. The film is an adaptation of the period coming-of-age novel by Robert Kaplo, The Hollywood Reporte reports.

The movie will be directed by Richard Linklater and will be set in 1937. It is about a high school student (Efron) who, while strolling the streets of New York, happens upon the yet-to-open Mercury Theatre and is noticed by its mercurial founder, Orson Welles. The man lands a bit part in "Julius Caesar," the production that catapulted Welles to the top, and spends the next week learning about life and love.

Welles will be played by newcomer Christian McKay. Efron will start shooting in mid-February in New York and London.
