Shooting has already begun on the first of three new Terminator movies called Terminator Salvation:The Future Begins, which is being directed by McG. Christian Bale has signed on to play lead character John Conner for the three installments, the first of which will be out in May 2009. Apparently Christian read the script and loved it, so signed on for all three.
Rap star Common also has a lead role, as well as Sam Worthington, and John Brolin, which is still a rumor. Much like the new Batman movie, the project is being kept under wraps and no one is to talk about the story points. The actors are only being permitted to read their parts of the film, as opposed to reading the entire thing.
The producers are trying to make the movie as viewer-friendly as possible. They say, "We're both huge Terminator fans and we're just approaching it from the point of view of what we'd like to see. Any time we're feeling pressure we just take a step back and say, as fans, 'what would we like to see?'"
