Beyonce Is Etta James

Beyonce is getting back on the film set as she is set to play famed singer Etta James, Blackfilm.com reports. The film will be written and directed by Darnell Martin.

”The film explores Chicago in the 1950s, charting the colorful lives of American musical legends like Muddy Waters, Chess, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf and Elvis Presley. Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Tammy Blanchard co-star.”

The movie will be shot in New Jersey and Mississippi.

There are so many fine black women that would have played the part of Etta instead of Beyonce. Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett and Fantasia are a few examples. These three women represent what Etta stood for and are classy women of a high caliber. In addition, Fantasia and Houston have the wow factor when it comes to singing in various ranges.

beyonce is not a good actress. look at her other films, and you will surely agree. etta james is phenomenal, but beyonce will ruin her. i am not sorry for saying it, and there is no 'hate' involved. just true facts. somebody needs to tell her, before she makes this huge mistake.

The movie is not about Beyonce. Can Etta have her day despite the actress? Let's support black film no matter what or who. There are so many negatives pulling us part. Maybe this will encourage some one to write a screenplay about Etta and choose s different actress if she can't pull her weight. I love Etta & I read her bio so I will support who ever plays my girl!
