Martin Scorsese pulls out of Bob Marley Documentary

Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese has pulled out of directing the documentary for Jamaican reggae icon Bob Marley. Another Oscar-winning filmmaker has taken over as the role of director.

Jonathan Demme will direct the yet to be titled film which should be released sometime in February 2010 which happens to mark the 65th anniversary of his death.

Demme said that he is "thrilled and humbled" to work with the Marley family on the project.

This should be a really cool film. It’s a bummer that Scorsese backed out but Demme is as good so it should be good.
