Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in and produce an upcoming film called Escape. The movie is based on the memoir by Carolyn Jessop, about a polygamous sect founded by Warren Jeffs.
Jessop's testimony helped to convict Jeffs of sexual conduct with minors. Katherine will play the part of Jessop, who was finally able to escape the sect when she was 35 years old!
Sounds like a really good film! Katherine is smart to turn to movies, since her writers on Grey's aren't too happy with her right now because of her Emmy consideration withdrawl. She has to have a backup plan if they decide to write her out of the show!
