Spiderman who? That's what the Batman folks are saying right now as they rocked the box office bringing in $155.34 million in its first weekend. Spiderman had the top spot until now $151.1 million for its May 2007 release.
"We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did," said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros.

Hellboy II Rocks The Box Office

Hellboy II: The Golden Army rocked the box office over the weekend bringing in $35,885,000 taking the #1 spot. Maybe Eddie Murphy should have gone to his own movie premiere because Meet Dave which also opened in theatres this weekend brought in a measly $5,300,000.

Will Smith was a superhero at the box office this weekend with Hancock, which brought in $78.3 million in the global box office over the weekend.
Also bringing in some major mullah was Kung Fu Panda with $38 million, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was number three with $24.3 million, while Wanted slipped to number four with $18.8 million. Wall-E rounded out the top five with $13 million.

Indiana Jones Dominates Box Office

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull dominated the international box office this weekend. The movie raked in an estimated $311 million around the world Reuters reported on Monday.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian brought in $18 million, while Iron Man and the romantic comedy What Happens In Vegas were tie in third place with $12.5 million each.
Rounding out the top five was Speed Racer, which brought in just $3 million.

Wow! Talk about a box office hit! Iron Man dominated the box office on its opening weekend bringing a whopping 100 million dollars domestically. Now that's impressive! Patrick Dempsey's cute romantic comedy came in at #2 with $15,500,000 which is good but obviously seems low next to Iron Man.

Audiences were all about Baby Mama drama...uh comedy this weekend as the Tina Fey flick grossed $18.2 mil this weekend.
The other big debut, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, came in second with $14.5 mil.
The Forbidden Kingdom slid from #1 last week to #3 with an unforbidden $11.2 mil. Sex doesn't always sell, as the erotic thriller Deception pulled in a flaccid $2.2 mil in its opening week.
